Video: Ecstatic Childbirth Video

I don’t normally care for childbirth videos that are taken from between mom’s legs while she is lying down. For one thing, it cements the idea in the viewer’s head that this is an appropriate position for childbirth, when it is actually the worst. Secondly, it is normally demeaning, degrading and objectifying to women as they become reduced to nothing more than a vagina (not unlike porn). Despite all that, I just adore this childbirth video.

Even though the mother is on her back, she is clearly in control of the situation, no one is messing with her body (no interventions) and she is clearly ecstatic to see her new baby. It is an absolutely beautiful video and I love it. It is heartwarming and wonderful.

    Many women who have natural, unmedicated childbirths report feelings of ecstasy and even orgasms. Childbirth does not have to be excruciating. Preconceived notions, preparation, mindset, surroundings and passive management of birth all contribute to a much more comfortable, joyous birth in which pain meds are simply unnecessary.

    I am sorry, this video has been taken down by the user and I can no longer find it on Youtube. It is a shame because it was really inspiring.
